Store them at 55-65*F and try to keep the humidity where you store them between 50-60%. Wine coolers with adjustable humidity work exceedingly well for the task.

brilliant. I currantly have 48 eggs in the incubator at day 9. 37.5 and humidity at 60. ive been advised to lower the temp to 37 and increase the humidity to 65 on day 14. is this okay? thanks

Exactly. You can even let the humidity get up as high as 70% after day 14.

ive had a couple of minor mishaps im hoping doesnt effect the process too much. there was a power cut that lasted a couple of hours a few days ago. think they will be okay? im turning the eggs 3 times a day. im still hopeful. fingers crossed. my Quail are still laying well. I am kind of new to all this. im just not sure how many to be happy with hatching and what I would consider not so good.

One night my dog knocked the plug out of the wall on my bator full of chicken eggs. The temp in the morning said 68 degrees (F) so I was sure they were dead. I went to throw them out, and one egg broke, and there was a developing chick wiggling. I put the eggs back in the bator, warmed it up, and had 5/7 eggs hatch. I was shocked! They were 5 days away from being due, I was amazed at how resilient they were. It made me think, toward the end of their development, low temps are not as much of a problem as high temps. I have a friend that has two of the hens from the hatch, they are two years old, and have been good layers, no development problems at all. So this leads me to think your little quail could easily be just fine.

thank you, that is comforting to know. what I think I will do in future is buy a small set of scales and then during incubation re-weigh the eggs while turning to see if they have put on any weight. im looking in at 48 eggs just now and I cant wait to see how many will hatch. ive heard the male fertility rate at this time of year is quite low so not to expect so many. ive been told 7 would be a good result but I find that quite sad. I am hoping for more than that
