Day 18... 27 chicks in the brooder, one egg hatched this morning. Still have 13 eggs in the incubator. Hoping to here more peeps today.
Was excited to get one golden chick. Don't have any golden adults, so I'm excited to see it grow! Hoping to get a fee more in future hatchlings!
Good luck to eveyone!
If it doesn't improve in 2 - 3 hours, and you don't want to cull it with scizzors, here is a link to euthanize small critters. It uses a rodent as an example, but it could easily be small chick.Any chance it will adjust? Or should we just put it down? Thanks.
i had a chicken that had part of the membrane stuck to it (humidity too low duringhatch. I took a paper towel soaked with really warm water and dripped water on the areas with the stuck membrane and very gently rubbed until it came loose. Then jacked the humidity way up to 80. It seems to be doing good now.Question, the last quail chick to hatch was stuck inside its egg. I helped it out, but part of the sack is stuck to its feathers. It's mentally alert, but it can't sit up, legs and toes are not right. Any chance it will adjust? Or should we just put it down? Thanks.
