well the little fella died, think he fell into the water and got to cold. i only had a shallow jar lid with only a little water so he couldnt drown

Sorry bout that, everyone that is going to raise quail should get a Georgia quail farm chick waterer, or its equivalent if someone else makes them. only 2-4 bucks and the chicks cant really get in it. I never had a chick drown or get dead from one of these.

I found some like the GQF waterers at Tractor Supply. They were only a few dollars.

Yea, they're too cheap NOT to use them. and they will work quite well with adults if needed.

i'll grab one next time i'm at tractor supply . i need to do more reading on hatching anyway. only 1 of 9 hatched, i hd them on their side i think i read somewhere they should be on end is that correct?

pretty much, Mine sit at an angle, pointy end down, you can lay them flat at lockdown.

Hatch day for 50 of my eggs from my JMF jumbos. Around 10 running around the hatcher this morning. These will be picked up Sat along with the 45 from last weeks hatch.
I need to keep some more for myself, the freezer is getting pretty low on quail, lol
