I just hatched a little white bobwhite and he is imprinting on me. its adorable

i have two button eggs in the incubator that i got from a friend, just put them in yesterday. getting a dozen more soon. im too excited i dont want to wait for the hatch date!!

i put a box in a box and mushed newspaper in-between put on a lamp and im letting it warm up before i add the eggs

40 watt not hot enough

putting back in 75 watt.... then it will get to hot

so i will have to adjust it

should get a dimmer switch in case that ones too hot!

ok trying to fix it now... now in a cat crate (so its less likely to start a fire) 93.3F

and 55% humidity (just sprayed it with a spray bottle

) going to lower the light

1 hour later its at 104.5F

Anyone know the ABSOLUTE MAX/MIN temps for quail eggs....many people say to stick with over 99.6 under 100 but what if they are at 100.5 sometimes and sometimes 99.4????????????

i think they would be okay with that, the eggs are able to handle that small swing in temp- as long as it doesnt get too hot or too cold. there are different temp suggestions dependent on if youre using circulated or still air incubation too
