All You MANLY MEN......un manly deeds

Guys have stopped marrying them too.

Nope. 3 were married and 2 were not. Not quite sure what you are refering to?

Married? The odds are the guys are only living with them if they're really like you describe.

I think a man is more manly if they can do what needs to be done. Not sit on their be hinds expecting someone else to do it. My DH cooks, cleans, does laundry, dishes, and helps with the chores... mowes, does all the food canning and helps in the garden (although he's still a greenhorn). He doesn't have to do it all, but he does most of it (esp during hunting season). Plus maintain the vehicles! Actually, doing house work with me, was prerequisit for the husband job. I wasn't about to get stuck with an sob that expected me to do EVERTHING like my ex did so he could go play. Now if I can just get him into a kilt!

I used to do construction for a living, (now I manage a building and watch others work). I have done cement work, built houses, roofing, siding, flooring, restored barns and stone foundation work and all sorts of remodeling, and landscaping. I do killer drywall jobs (which is a curse btw!). I can sweat pipes and do basic electric (real basic)...am not afraid of hard labor....although it hurts alot more the next day!

I hunt and butcher the game.

Oh and did I mention that I have a BFA in metalsmithing! So, that means I can weld, cast and forge, braise solder and I love to beat the crap out of metal!!!!

Joe Joe. I know these gals and 3 are married for sure, and have kids, and the other 2 are being suitably selective about a mate because there are a lot of loser guys out there. No lack of suitors.

How did I describe them, other than good looking and hard workers? Why would that make you think guys would only want to live with them? Hmmmmm?

Hot dang! You're my kind of woman! I'd marry you in a heart beat, line you up with all kinds 16 hours a day jobs, take your salary, and hire a half-dozen good-looking French maids and cooks.

You know what I think is manly?

When a guy cooks, cleans, changes diapers, etc. while not making an issue of it or thinking its something that should gain any more recognition than when a woman does this stuff. You know -- when he recognizes that his hands are just as capable of landing in the dishwater.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking.

And doesn't tabulate to see who is doing more and who is doing less in the sum total of house work / yard work, hours at work, etc.

And, doesn't call his partner condescending names like "my woman," "the old lady," etc

And does not act like it's 1950...

Edited to add: Even more manly if he sees what needs to be done, gets off his you know what, and does it without a word -- either of complaint or to try to get recognition of any sort for doing these tasks.

Now that is manly...

Even better still if he holds the door open...for ANYONE whose hands are full, whether male or female...

Sure can. I'm not too worn out from doing house work like some wives purposely make their husbands.

I had a cabinet shop for almost 20 years & made some descent $$. My wife got a job, about 10 years ago in the dental field making $22 an hour. Now, where does that leave me? I work as a ranch hand 3 days a week, & care for our place the other 4. 53 years old, & semi-retired!
