a cold front has blown through. electricity was knocked out & my chicks were cold. I used a new propane heater. it was hotter than I realized. it melted the plastic pine shavings bag & the wood chips were starting to smell.
I had gone out multiple times because I was uncomfortable w/this heat source. I thought I had been super careful. the electricity came on & I immediately went out to turn the heater off. that's when I smelled the near fire.
just the thought of what almost happened has made me sick. I thank God I didn't burn my barn down & my babies in it.
