EE is a cockerel, dark red on the wings and stance confirms that. Australorp looks pullet.

First suspect for me would be coon as well, if climbing is involved.

thank you for clarification on the EE being a cockerel, can I ask how you tell that? My other EE was CLEAR a roo, but this one isn’t as clear to me.

So Sorry for you. I lost most of my first flock to a dog attack a long time ago. It's so hard to deal with. Good luck with tonight. I hope you catch the creature.
I was thinking the EE was a cockerel as well. I had one that color a long time ago. I couldn't pin why I though it could be a cockerel but SBFChickenGirl has a great observation.
