Good afternoon . I am new here. I have a sister-in-law who with my brother are moving back to Indiana soon and will live in the country. She really wants to get established in raising chickens, some layers and some fryers. I live about 23 miles from there intended place. I am retired and garden, but am excited to learn about how to to help them take care of their chickens. Right now they are hoping to close on a 6 acre place very soon.I have been letting her dream of raising chickens slowly become my own. Just the idea of seeing a dedicated effort to do all this and have our own eggs, fryers, and experience the wonder of it all intrigues me. Of course I have no idea how it may actually pan out. But I hope it will be and i want to be a part of it.
Any wisdom on how to avoid start up problems would be helpful.

Tom

! Pleased you joined us and are getting to back into chickens! I think a great place to begin is the Learning Center - it will give you the knowledge you need to be a responsible poultry keeper. Good luck and have fun!!
