So, i now have an incubator (gifted to me) i have chosen the chickens i want and i am getting the eggs gifted to me. I am confident i know what i'm doing with the incubation, but i have questions still about brooding.

I mentioned before that i have seen a pen and a heat lamp (by brines) for about £40 total on ebay (new). Or i can buy a DIY kit that comes with a box, feeding trays, first batch of sawdust etc for about £30. Or of course i could make up one myself.

But, where do i put it? In my house? In the cold garage? Do i keep them in the house for the first wee while, then move them outside to the garage with the heat lamp still when they get feathered? It will be a big jump in temp!

    Thanks!
