Aloha kākou!
New to this group. Moved here 9/23 & trying to find info on finding Lavender Orpingtons on the Big Island. In the past, I've raised 50 Buff Orpingtons and love this breed. Presently, I have 6 "pullet" chicks from Tractor Supply in Hilo. They were labeled mixed breed Orpingtons...one is definitely a rooster and possibly another. It seems to be more of a straight run...they also seem to be flighty for the breed and small for the chicks I'm used to. Time will tell. Just wanted to glean info on more experienced island breeders and resources avaiable.

Only a cell phone pix- one little black one has dark orange markings on the beak.

Welcome to BackYard Chickens, And a Big Hello from Eastern Nebraska! Thank's for sharing the picture's your Chicks are Beautiful.
Hoping to ID this mixed lot. I know what the Buff Orpington is, just not familiar with the others. I had to get up at 5a.m. to stand in line at Tractor Supply in Hilo, Hi. & wasn't really awake to catch the particulars. I'm thinking they may be crosses of some kind because they were sent from a hatchery on 'Oahu.
