Aloha from Manoa's Roost

Pics
I forgot to come back and mention that only 2 chick's hatched out of the 14 egg's, one Aloha, and one NN/Aloha. They are doing well in the brooder, and are inseparable from each other. Right now even though the Aloha chick hatched a day before the NN/Aloha one did, the NN/Aloha one look's bigger.

I have separated the rooster from the hen's for the summer, as it's getting too hot. I figured that the hen's would appreciate a break from him.

They are doing good, considering this high heat that we have been getting over here. I put some mister's up in the far end of the run so that the coop won't get wet. The flock seems to like standing down there under it.

Both of those Naked Neck Aloha hen's have been broody for about a month now, but they only are sitting on plastic egg's. I do have a small batch of some real egg's from the flock that are in my new incubator that I am trying out. That hatch is due on Saturday.

This is the first time since I joined that I am starting a thread in this section. I received my Aloha boy today and have decided to name him Manoa after one of the Hawaiian names. I plan to help develop the Naked Neck version of the Aloha's. The Aloha breed was created and developed right here in Arizona, and is dual-purpose. Manoa is a big boy!
