Aloha!

My daughter and I are raising chickens and Muscovy ducks for pleasure, profit, and as a fun wholesome homeschool project. We currently have a mixed flock of Barred Rock, Austrailorp, and Americauna pullets. We've separated our maturing pair of Muscovy ducks, Ricky and Lucy, into a small pen of their own in the hopes that some privacy will help Lucy feel inclined to lay us some eggs. The newest additions to our ohana are 6 week-old Muscovy ducklings from 2 different broods. My daughter and I are loving the process of taming these adorable fuzzy babies.

Hi and :welcome

Sounds very nice! Good luck with your new hatch! :D
I hope you find all the info you need here, and enjoy the site,

Thanks for the welcome, BYC community!
I loooooooove my chickens and ducks <3 This website is amazing! I'm eager to learn more from you all.
My next big plan is to put in another coop and large pen (with fresh grass) and move this flock over. Then I would like to seed their current pen with the optimal forage plant (I'm not sure what yet), and let that grow for a month or more. In the meantime I want to arrange to acquire about 60 day old chicks, and raise a second flock of Speckled Sussex, Silver Laced Wyandotte, and French Marans.
Any advice on what to plant while the chicken pen is fallow?
