I'm a new chicken mom and I am always searching for wisdom. I have referenced BYC from breed selection, coop size and style to cooling my chickens. No problems yet but will come to BYC for your experience and solutions.
I have 3 Orpingtons and 2 Brahmas. I will stop at that number because they are a cute handful. Today I heard cackles instead of beeps, my babies are growing <3. Pretty sure 1 Brahma is a roo or just big and protective.
My husband and I also have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses. I am enjoying the geezers out of the chickens- never would have guessed how much fun they are.
Was planning to let them free range but they are like super cute Raptor Grasshoppers and I want my garden back, so they got banished to a run yesterday... a big beautiful run and I still feel guilty. Pretty sure you all know what I am talking about.
Anywho, it's good to be here, mahalo for having me.

Right on. Just joined. Been reading articles on this fantastic site. Getting ready to build first coop. No birds yet, but neighbors birds are in my yard daily. Looking forward to having my own small happy healthy flock. Aloha from the Hamakua coast
