Alone Muscovy

I’ve made a few recent posts about this lone Muscovy drake I brought Home from the rooster drop off pen at the Co op.
I want to get him another companion but only have space for one more.
I’m kind of conflicted if I should get him a female ( will he over breed her? ) or a male buddy.
If I get him a male, will they try to mate and hurt each other?
Advice needed.

I think I would go with another male. A lone male/female pair, he might hurt her since she'd be the only female. The boys might fight, but it would only be for dominance... and rarely.

Someone told me two males may try to mate and end up injuring eachother... true?

we have 2 drakes left (fox problem) and they rarely fight.
