We are needing to thin our herd by spring since we are planning to add a cow or 2 then. We have alpacas of many colors from white through true black. Alpacas are a great livestock especially if you are a spinner or knitter.

What a summer! We had four healthy crias and all were boys. Beautiful additions to our herd but our pastures are full. Mother/son pairs are now on sale at 50% off the dam's price:

1. Feline, the perfect foundation herd female: Now $2,250 w/her son Gold Rush

We also have a couple of fiber females (meaning that they should not be used for breeding) that are $1500 each, but if a BYC or BYH member would like to purchase both, we'll sell them both for $1500. You can look for Marin or Sarah on our Openherd.com page (http://www.openherd.com/FarmPage.aspx?Farm=223)

We are also offering all of our alpacas at 50% off right now to people we associate with so make us an offer.

Beautiful! But alas, I would have a hard time keeping those a secret in my neighborhood. I suppose I "could" hide one or two in my basement.

(I once knew a pastor who had a half dozen mini goats in the basement of the church parsonage...)

Some of our are smaller than a large dog! They don't bark. They don't bite. Seems to me they would be better.

And they smell better too! Alpaca poo...or Great Dane (or pick your large breed) poo...

Easy choice, plus I can put it in my garden. Ah well. I will have to hope that some day they change the laws, because I imagine this will be my "forever" house (I do love my home and neighborhood).
