Alright, I can't stand it anymore...

Well I found where my hens have been sneeking off to lay their eggs. Eleven of them under the coop. So I put them in a nest box and thought maybe one of the hens would sit them. So now 2 days later they are still there with no mama sitting them. They look sad.

Like please hatch us please.

I figure they are maybe 5 days old, should be ok to hatch, right? Soooo here I am sitting up the incubator even tho I said NO MORE HATCHIG TILL THE SPRING!

I have 10 week old and 6 week old chicks now, I don't need any more.

Oh well might be a silkie or two in this batch.

Isn't that the rule? If you find eggs, you have to incubate?

Ok I set up the bator and got it going. Put the eggs in and thought I'd better tell my DH and get the more chickens we don't need anymore chickens talk over.

So I tell him I put thoes eggs in the incubator being you won't eat them. He said yea your right I won't eat them you don't know how old they are.

That's it, I almost fell over. I hope I have that easy a time when I get my blue cochin eggs in the spring.
