Hi there!
My husband and I raise chickens in our backyard and are very lucky to have supportive, friendly neighbors who actually enjoy the antics of our little ones. I'm here posting for a friend, who hasn't had such luck.
Her home came with a fenced in chicken area, cemented into the ground, located at the western corner of her property. The previous owner kept the chickens free-range, closing them up in this open fence structure at night. Recently, a neighbor reported her and now she has to figure out how to install a coop that is 5 feet from the property line. The current fence is about 1 foot away from the property on one side and 2-3 feet away on the other.
We were brainstorming that it might be acceptable to purchase a small coop that we can place inside of the fenced area, which would make the "coop" itself definitely far enough away from the property line. But does the run also have to be 5 feet from the property line?
Thank you in advance for your advice!
