I am from the Philippines and have been raising native chickens for years. Just this year, I started acquiring heritage chickens (RIR, BA and BPR). Lately, my flock has been hit with infectious coryza and the young ones are badly hit. I understand that this is caused by bacteria, thus, antibiotics are needed to treat the flock. However, I am also looking for home remedy or other alternative treatment. Any suggestion or info will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

There arnt any home treatments. The only remedy is to cull your flock, disinfect everything and repopulate in about 6 months.

That is totally insane and inhumane..

Mr. google will tell you that this ain't a hopeless case. As we all know, coryza is caused by bacteria and antibiotics kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria. You just have to isolate the sick chicken and give antibiotics the soonest possible time. Coryza-specific antibiotics are available in the market.

There are also alternative treatment found in youtube which may be lacking in scientific finding yet very effective.

Birds with Coryza are carriers of the disease for life. They will infect other birds. Did Mr. Google tell you about that part of the disease? Even if you isolate a sick bird away from an existing flock, you can easily infect the other healthy birds simply by carrying the bacteria on your person and coming in contact with healthy birds.
It is insane and inhumane to let sick birds suffer from any respiratory disease. You need to contact Mr. Google and read what Coryza does to birds internally.
