Am I a Barnevelder?

She’s changing so much - very pretty!

So, is this ‘standard’, or is our girl a bit different? Has anyone else had one like this... and do you think she’s 100% barnevelder or a cross breed?

She looks too "partridge" to me. Has she gone through her last juvenile moult and that is her adult feathering?

I think this is more standard, found on the web but looks like the one I have. Caveat, mine is a hatchery bird so all bets are off relative to APA standard of perfection. Also, the SOP may be different in Australia it certainly is for Araucana.

The coloring and pattern of yours looks a lot like my oldest EE (without the muffs and beard)

This is her now! Still yet to have her last juvenile moult yet I think, but very interesting. Neck feathers the same as last time really, but her chest ones are so detailed.

Thank you, good to know! One of the other girls we got at the same place is definitely not what she was supposed to be, so was curious.

Her name is Dora (the explorer) - absolutely into EVERYTHING and constantly on the move... so it took a long time to get photos! She is lovely, though

Do you get the lovely dark chocolate eggs? I was looking forward to them but my Barnvelder just lays ordinary brown eggs. If I had to choose between show quality and the pretty eggs I'd go for the pretty eggs every time!
