Am I a barred rock?

Could be a French Cuckoo Marans since they have feathered legs. Could be a BR crossed with something else. Could be a recessive gene popping up along the line. If it's a BR, it looks male in the pics.

Looks like a Marans/Barred Rock cross.
The leg feathers say Marans. The Yellow legs and beak say BR.
(Marans are pink or white)
The white Dot on its head could mean male however a Marans male is much much lighter than that chick.
SO it could be either male or Female at this point. Post a pic in a couple of weeks and I can tell better then.

Yup, didn't notice the yellow legs. And if it was a Cuckoo Marans/BR cross, it would have white legs, I believe, since white skin is dominant. The last picture shows the headspot, which is irregular and "frosty" across the back of the head, hence my guess of a male. And barred Cochin could be a possibility, also.

Looks like my barred cochin did at that age. Spot on his head and all. Mine is a male.

Don't all barred rocks have a white spot on their head? Is it really just the males? interesting.
