All of my Hens and my Drake have mohawks, it tickles me when they raise them. I have to agree , your baby is a Drake. He sure is pretty!

Sorry that you have to rehome him. He sure is pretty. Definitely a boy, he is about the same age as mine and my females caruncles are tiny.

Thank you everyone for your help. With him being a drake the home i had for him can not take another boy so I have posted him in the auction area here if anyone is intersted

Thanks. I thought about seeing if you were interested in him but then remembered how you only have the pair and had to get rid of so many drakes. I just want him to go to a good pet home so that is what i am trying to find.

Those "red things" are crauncles and they are adorable. You have to have a special love for muscovies. They are one of the best breeds for pets.
Your drake is adorable especially because he has crauncles.

I agree, I love them too

I used to think they were a little off putting, but they are easy to get used to. You do deal with huge saggy wattles for roosters, right?

I was told that you get use to them but i am actually afraid of them. I like the way they look on muscovies but i can not touch them or look at them a whole lot or i get really freaked out. Thats why i just call them "the red things" lol. Love him to death but i refuse to touch his face or get near them.

I'd love to be able to but couldn't guarantee that he would remain a pet. I actually have another BYC'er hatching some Rouen ducklings for me now. 6 out of the 7 are looking good.

There is a swap on 1/28 in St. Pete that is listed in the chickenstocks thread. If you can make it there you may want to post on that thread to see if anyone is interested. Here's the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...y-area-chicken-swap-saturday-january-28th/250 Best of luck finding him a home.
