It happens! Once my chicken pecked my tooth, and other times if I open my mouth they will look straight at it!

Why do they do these things? I’m assuming you didn’t get sick from it? I’m always overly cautious with chicken germs.

Absolutely, that’s why I keep my right eye closed when they get on my shoulder. They don’t like the left side for some reason.

I think they see up close out of their left eye. Their right eye (IIRC!) is for watching for aerial predators.

As much as I love like only give them air kisses I take all that seriously, ain’t got time to get sick!

Honestly I think that article was nonsense. People get poop on their hands then eat without washing them and get salmonella. I think my husband got it from cleaning the fish tank then having a cigarette when we had frogs.

I have no idea why the writer of the article thought chicken-kissing was causing some kind of epidemic. It was silly.

kissing a chicken seems way less of a risk for getting sick compared to eating undercooked meat, but I rather not chance it though.

Sorry your husband got sick before, you gotta be careful after handling any animal it seems.

The frogs came with a warning about salmonella so it wasn’t really a surprise. Just a really hard way to learn a lesson lol
