I recieved some muscovy eggs today off ebay. Now, she said she would send extras, she sent 1 extra. Her Muscovy eggs came in a foam carton, each egg wrapped in a single tissue. The box was loosly stuffed with crumpled news paper. Here is a copy of the message I sent her:

I got the eggs today. The box was dripping with yolk. When I opened I found 1 completely broken egg all over everythig else. I had 3 smooshed eggs from contact with eachother. I have 6 with completely ruptured air cells. 1 with a damaged air cell. Only 2 are probably OK. I will set the ones with ruptured air cells, but really, I don't have much hope. I had to wash half of them because there was dried yolk and tissue covering them. I don't want to offend but your packing was the bad. I order a fair amount of eggs. Shipping in cartons is a bad idea, especially when the eggs are too big to close the carton. I usually receive eggs individually wrapped in bubble wrap, taped shut. Put in the box with packing peanuts. I got a shipment from NY this way and all eggs were perfect. What can you do to rectify this?

What doo you think?

They should make it right . Most Ebay'er's want that positive feedback. If they don't make it right, don't be afraid to leave appropriate feedback with details. People do read the feedbacks, especially the negative ones!!

Good Luck!!

You are not being unreasonable. I would ask for a refund and rate the seller so no one else will have the same problem. Don't be afraid to speak your mind. I am so sorry about your eggs. We are getting some in any day now and I would be horrified if they were all crushed except for two!

I send packing instructions with my winning bid or payment. That way there is no misunderstanding and I only ask that they be wadded up individually in whole sheets of old newspaper, so no extra expense. Saves me a lot of heartache, and a lot of eggs from getting smashed up.
