Am I being unreasonable?

I have had a terrible week... Friday my grandpa bought 12 brown leghorn chicks, and 6 more of various breeds he asks if he can keep them at my house, he buys me 3 ducklings of my choice at ($3.29 each) I was supposed to help him build a pen yesterday, but he never got around to getting started today I get a call..to windy...I don't mind keeping the chicks but Food cost me 12.90 or so...and then there's the heat lamp and care and he is my family... and monday night I lost 6 of my 51/2 week olds that dogpiled each other they do have a light in their coop, then this morning I go out to check things and I find a headless duck... clearly I need to better predator proof their pen, I'm already working on that, and I'll camp outside if I have to! (I love my ducks) but, I'm so stressed right now I just needed to let off some steam.

so sorry! that sucks!!! My grandfather did the same thing over a year ago. Bought 10 rir chicks and dropped them off, wanted me to take care of them till he was ready. He never did come, never did care, and never did feed! Then each and everyone of them were cockrels! so sorry for you.

I wish I had a Grandpa that would come drop some chicks off at my house. I wish I had a Grandpa that I could call and talk about chickens with. I wish my Grandpa was still alive he had lots and lots of parakeets and doves and pigeons it was a blast to go to his house. I miss my Grandpa so much I would take care of any amount of chicks for him if I could have him back alive with me. Hope you call your Grandfather and tell him how much you love him cuz you never know when that time will come for him to move on.
