Am I bonkers?

Main flock.
He was on roost till everyone left this morning, came down and was eating. The other hens came over to him. He backed off ten feet and let them eat. They left, he went back to eating. No chase, no pecking. It was cool out too so they had the energy to chase if wanted.

I may just let this ride a couple days and see what happens.

I would too....sounds like a great start, smart boy, chill girls.

Only thing I’m concerned with is him sticking to himself at the coop. Single lone chicken.

He’s actually gotten a lot more flighty. Which I like. His first introduction ever, a hen pecked him and he screamed, jumped a couple times, then flew to my shoulder 15’ away for protection.

I can corner him and handle with zero problems. He prefers to stay the heck away though.

Time will tell!
