Good luck with your hatch Michele

Are your eggshells white or brown? Not sure if you said and I just couldn't find it. It makes it harder to candle if the shell is darker. A brighter light will help if they are brown. There is a great candling thread here somewhere. You might be able to search for it under candling. The OP took pics each day of his hatch as he candled. Gives a newbie (like I was when I used it this summer) a really good idea what to look for. It is the coolest thing ever when you get to see them move inside the egg for the first time. Literally, that was all DH and I could say when we watched it!

Turn your eggs more often--you will have a better result with 3-4-5 turns a day. temp is tricky.
i go for 99-100 half way up the egg, putting thermometer on small paper cups cut to 1" high and 2 half-circles on opposites sides to hold the round thermometer.

turning--I use a board under the incubator and see saw the incubator to mimic an automatic turner. I tired of hand turning my first try. Many options--all work.

X2 with temps and turning. Someone on another thread offered the idea of using cupcake papers to place the eggs in in the incubator in order to help keep the mess down. Worked pretty good when I tried it.

my eggs are getting heavier (one of them is a week old now). but there isnt much difference in candling. still a blob. umm help? maybe this one just hasnt hit its growth spurt yet....
