This is my greenhouse we built last fall from a kit:
Having built one, I realize how simple they are. One could easily make one for chickens--a smaller one, for a coop (or free-standing picnic/pond shelter sans end walls), and cover it with shade cloth or a tarp (opaque) in summer, and/or clear plastic for winter. Even in climates like mine, all chickens really need is a good roost, shelter from the wind, food & (liquid) water. People use cattle panels for the frame, or PVC, whatever works for you.
But this (without end walls) could be just the thing to keep a pool from heating up and could be made to look quite attractive, I think.
