So today when I was picking up a few flowers to plant, I spotted the cabbage plants. I just couldn't resist, even though we don't eat cabbage, and I have never grown it. BUT, I bought a 6 pack of plants to grow for the chickens!

I kept reading that they love cabbage, and figured, why not? I have plenty of room in the garden and plenty of time!

Does this mean I am whipped? Seriously, I have only had the chicks for 6 days!

Yup ! You are whipped. But that is an excellent idea ! I think I will copy it, a garden row for the chickens !

Ours love swiss chard, and it's fast and easy to grow, too.

What?!? You're not growing the plants for your chickens from seed?

This just isn't right! I don't know how they will make it!

That sounds like a great idea, I think I may do something similar. I plan on letting my free range a bit, and the chicken coop will be right next to the garden, so maybe I will plant some stuff they will like too, this year! I'm probably just gonna go with seeds, though.

I just bought 6 kale plants for my ducks, parsley seeds for the bunny, chard and turnip greens for the chickens and peas for everyone! I am getting ready to plant BOSS for them. This winter hopefully I can just toss whole heads in the coop to give them something to do when they cant get outside, along with their cabbage heads which they love.

They've got you wrapped around their little toes!

I've tried growing plants in the cabbage family but aside from the radishes, all it has produced are tons of cabbage worms. Hm, might be worth another try...

You are chicken whipped! LOL They do love cabbage! And ears of corn....Do you have room for corn! And tomatoes.....Got room for tomatoes?
