Am I prepared for this....

Poor babies, they lucked out when you inherited them. They're all really pretty just need some care. I'm glad you're keeping the turkey too most people wouldn't even give her a chance.
Yes they did.... When my uncle was well they were in great shape but now that he has passed away they have gotten worse!

Yeah, I was going to put her down but while looking at her and she just walked right up to me and let me pet her I couldn't and so she is going to live.... And i am hoping later down the road when she is healthy (she is laying right now) I can have her hatch how some baby's!

So tomorrow I an going to get them on free choice food, clean water with acv and kombucha in it, kelp powder free choice, going to record all birds with letters and tags, and then come next week I will be able to take care if the mites and bubble foot. :wee

I will update tomorrow when I am done. :)

I understand you want to go all organic, but as junebuggena said, DE will NOT kill those mites, but the mites CAN kill the birds. You need either a poultry dust or spray like permethrin. I use Gordon's Permethrin 10 to spray the coop and then use ivermectin pour-on for the birds. It's easier and cleaner than dusting the birds. DE will not deworm them either, in case you were wondering. Nor will garlic. Valbazen is an excellent dewormer. Use .08 per lb, give either with a piece of bread dipped in it or use a small syringe and manually give it to them. Repeat in 10 days. Also, as junebuggena pointed out, you may want to add an antibiotic to their water for 5-7 days, such as oxytetracyline. I know-none of this is organic. But you are dealing with a host of health issues and the sooner and more effectively you get it under control, the more likely they'll survive. I gotta hand it to you-many of us would not take on the project you're attempting. Please let us know how they do!

DE won't really help much, and it's not good for the chickens (or you) to breathe in. The Bubblefoot on several of them looks pretty severe. You're going to need to remove the bubbles and spray the wounds with Vetericyn several times a day. Epsom salt soaks help to loosen up the bubble for easier removal. A broad spectrum antibiotic will help get the infection under control. A dewormer is probably also needed, it will help with the mites too.

I will definitely let you all know how they recover... I have plans to document the whole thing!

I never said I was going to treat them Organically... I did say I didn't have vegetable oil around to treat them Because "we" eat organic....

I am not going to use any non-natural if possible.

For de-wormer, I will use chemical... I know DE is not good for treating worms! I did say I was "Going to spread it on the ground to help keep the mites from living"... Which I have done before and it worked great!

And all birds will be out of the coop when I do it... Also from using from the last 6-7 years, I have no plans to stop using it.

I am going to do what I did to treat the mites with my last birds... Soap, Salt water, vinegar, and oil.

Thank you for your advice and I will see if the feed store has the de-wormer!

And Kombucha is filled with antibiotics.... Along with yogurt and I would rather stay natural on this end of things.

I don't know how long you can wait but if you have the means they make this stuff called harkers spot on it's a wormer/mite killer made for racing pigeons. You put two drops between the birds shoulders and you're done. They only sell it in the UK so you'd have to get it though the post it's a little pricey but it's easy and it works.
