Am I too late?

I really want to raise our own turducken this year, as in a turkey, duck, and chicken, for thanksgiving, am I late to the party? How early should I be planning this? I just decided today to do it, I hope I'm not too late.... I haven't raised turkeys or ducks before, and my chickens are all layers, so I'd want to special order birds just for this meal. Any advice would be so very welcomed!!!!

I think you should start planning it for next year. You could do the chicken and the duck easy enough, but to get a turkey big enough to stuff both of those into, I would think you would need more than 5 months. JMHO. Perhaps someone else knows of a fast growing turkey that would get big enough and have enough meat on it to be worthwhile.

Unless, of course, you could find someone with started birds.

I raise midget whites, and depending how big you want it, if you start now you will have a turkey around 18 lbs.
