Amanda Knox in Italy

That poor woman is still stunned. I am just very glad she was freed and is still young enough to get an education and make something of her life. I was very glad to see a ton of support for her when she landed too!!!!

It is so wonderful to hear from someone who knows Amanda! Please send her my heart felt best wishes. I prayed extremely hard for her and her family. I could not be happier that she is home with her family. I hope you are right and her spark remains intact

I will let her know, do you want me to give her your name or just mention a well wisher from all the other fowl crazy (in the best possible way of course!) supported her and wishes her well?
It will be a few days before I see her I think. The media was flocking her mom's house where she mostly grew up, but her gramma lives a few blocks away so I went to her and gave her the cake and fresh baked bread I made because she said it would be best not to see her so soon. She is now at a friends house, and is going out into our beautiful outdoors to get some calmness and tranquility, and I don't blame her! In prison she got to go out into a concrete yard but hated the lack of green. For those who wish her well, thank you, thank you so much! It has been a great few days.
thechickenchick, I will PM you a picture of Amanda holding my ducks when I get around to doing that

I hope that she can rebuild her life.

At a point there I stopped following the case - only because it seemed so hopeless and it was so disturbing to imagine someone getting a murder conviction based on that evidence.

The evidence just was not there.

But when the appeal was made I sure pricked up my ears and started following the case again. I was glad for how it turned out and it was very nice to see her get to go home.

from one who came pretty close to losing their life someplace else.

I am SO glad she was freed! I had a gut feeling that she was not guilty or even want to play a part in the murders if she was asked to attend. You would bet she would forewarn anyone and everyone to get the heck away from the murderer or not even go home that night or the next.

I hope she will take the time to adjust her new life back in order and think about what she wants to do with her future life as in family and jobs/career wise. I think she would be "shell shocked" for most part since four years is a LONG time to be away from people you loved.

Please let her know that not everyone in the UK believes the rubbish that the british press put out about her, I was so pleased when the verdict was announced. It was so tragic that her life should be harmed by a man determined to find satanic sex crimes where they don't exist.

Agreed, because one of two things happen you either get thrown in jail and accused of doing something when you didn't or you end up dead.

That is a very sad conclusion. Travel, and especially international travel, is one of the greatest things for expanding yourself, your viewpoint, your perspective, and your understanding of life and of the world. It's also one of the best things we can do to insure peace and mutual understanding. Staying insular, only letting yourself be exposed to one culture or one society is really limiting.

You can easily be falsely accused, arrested or imprisoned, or be robbed or attacked, in your own home town; does that cause you to want to bolt your doors and never go outdoors or walk down the street? I certainly hope not!
