I don't doubt it at all. My RIR and BA are total best friends forever since they were chicks, even when they are polar opposites in pecking order.

My hens will go to another hen that is having a tough time with an egg, and they will lay next to her and sometimes lay their necks across her back to comfort her. I also have several hens that "kiss" the rooster...they will walk up to him and just very gently peck his neck or face, and he doesn't flinch. It's.........pretty amazing, actually.
