Amazing 100% hatch from shipped eggs

I just had a 100% hatch rate with a BYCer's eggs. Congrats!!! I was expecting all 16 to hatch either. Had to sell a few to adjust the numbers down some.

Nope, I bought this incubator. Well, the last one didn't hatch. It had died without ever pipping. It was one with an almost split airsack. Its hard not to feel horrible when you checked a couple hours ago and heard a chirp, though not as perky as hours before. By the time I was going to bed, it died. 5/6 is still great for shipped. Just wish I had pipped for it, it might have gotten out. darg!

I could buy myself a new house if I had a dollar for everytime I heard a story about someone buying infertile eggs from ebay. I guess people will rip you off and sell you pretty much anything.

Saw an auction a while back for a dozen fertile htachin eggs from "heritage California white leghorns", and I couldn't help but wonder if someone just repackaged a dozen Trader Joe eggs and sold them for $20 a dozen on e-bay.

At the same time you do have to be smart while shopping on ebay, do they have a pic of the Roo ? DO they offer pick up ? If they offer pick up they have nothing to hide. What's the recent feedback? HAve you contacted previous buyers to ask how many they had fertile/hatch ? There are some unscrupulous people about but you gotta keep your wits about you and search hard .

I bought some BO eggs from an Ebayer....I received them in a paper egg carton full of SHAVINGS.wrapped in plastic and stuff in a box with walmart bags. Most of the eggs were cracked.FUNKY CRUD shavings all over everything.Box had no visible damage.no wrinkles, nothing.I gently wash them a lil and put them in a tray.DH says"what are they supposed to be?"I said Buffs and he was like"...? buff what?" I said Orps...he laughed and said,"yeah right....none of those are gonna hatch" They were all little creamy white colored eggs, maybe a couple light brown ones, but all small.Supposing to be 'Show Quality' and all. I had received a shipment of eggs from both Cathy and Nancy(buff orps and barred rocks) and the DIFFERENCE!!! To compare eggs looked like my bantam silkies to copper marans...lol.. Nancy and Cathy's were so big and dark and uniform, except for being marked you couldn't tell the difference in theirs. The Ebayers looked like i dunno.... Well 1 hatched. The guy said all his birds are LF show quality birds, and he has never had problems with his packing method.
