Amazon carry sand or soil for quail bathing?

You can buy chinchilla sand, I think maybe tiny pet is a brand available that I’ve seen. Be sure it isn’t chinchilla dust, you want sand. You can also order natural top soil that doesn’t have fertilizer in it. You can have Home Depot or Lowe’s ship you sand, but it will be pricey. If you can manage it, go to a hardware store and buy sand. When I lived in Brooklyn my local hardware store had sand, but kept it in the basement and you had to ask for it. Space is limited on the sales floor in the city.
I found it in a couple of the sites u indicated but they claim that due to the weather conditions they are not doing deliveries at the moment.

I agree. Plus, they're probably taking advantage of the fact that these stores are not doing deliveries at the moment due to Covid & storm conditions. Nonetheless, that's an exaggerated hike.
It really isn't. The price difference is pretty much about the same or a little less than another company would charge you for shipping.

I live in an apartment in NYC, USA. They stay in my bedroom. Being that sand might get a little dusty, perhaps u can recommend soil I could purchase over the internet.
How many do you keep? How do you keep the smell down? I want to start keeping some in my room, but smell is my biggest concern. Do you have them on hardware cloth or shavings?

Peat moss is great. Dirt is well. . .dirty. It's fine if you don't have white birds. My white is still brown from dusting itself in the ground six months ago.

Regardless of what you get, as long as it is safe and doesn't have added chemicals, the birds will appreciate it. Make sure you have lots of space around the bath. They love to fluff far and wide, and then "dry" off all over the place and leave yet more all over.
