today dh got gas, went in the store to pay and ahhhh! card decline? I called the bank they pulled all transactions for the last 3 months and omg someone used my card for porn! how did they get it? i don't just use it anywhere on the web just big big well known companies (walmart, target, toyrus, amazon, paypal) I noticed the day before the charges were made, i had bought a cd from Amazon. before that i hadn't bought anything online since christmas. they stole my info from amazon!! well needless to say the card got cancelled it's not just a credit card it's my debit card, now i have to bite and scratch to get my money back because amazon stores your cvc? number that 3-dig number on back of the card and now they have that number soooo I have to convince the bank the I'm not the only one with those numbers....
they didn't buy up in one day, they dollared my account for 3 MONTHS before they stole enought to be noticed and plus my fault, i don't read my statements i just stuff them in the file cabinet never again I'll read every line from now on

p.s that should have been some c.d

Yikes! I order stuff from Amazon. I haven't ordered anything in a while, but still... Yikes!

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I had the same thing happen 3 times in a row. It was dollar charges that no one would notice. But I did because one was from England, and the other from Egypt. Don't buy there, sorry. I have a Visa card, and visa took the charges off all three times. You should have credit card protection thru your credit card. Call the card in stolen and get a new one. You're right, I would contact Amazon and tell them what you know. Sorry!

Sorry that you had to experience this. Thanks for sharing this story, though. "Some of us"[IMG] do not review statements as thoroughly as we should. Yours is a cautionary tale. Better bet that I will be more dilligent in the future.
The only fraud tale I have to share is that DH went to a big electronics chain to buy some widget that was advertised. Discovered that CC was missing a couple hours later. Called CC company. Gas and dept. store items had been charged - all within a mile of the electronics store!!! All within minutes od DH's transaction. Our guess was that an employee took a lunch (and shopping) break, courtesy of our American Express.

Phone the companies and find out the shipping address for those purchases. My bet is someone closer to you who might have had access to your purse.

You can't really point the finger at Amazon without any proof.

it's a debit card with a master card number but you don't get the same protection my bank is working on now so i'll see what comes back , but i'm quessing i'll eat most of it

DH fought w/ our bank for almost a year about same topic. We stopped putting $$ in there, and told them to cancel the debit card, and they still accepted charges from it... so the account went negative, and they wanted us to pay the stupid extra charges/fees for it going negative (twice this happened at $40 each time). So the 2nd time, we just didn't pay it, and told them we're not paying it, it was there mistake this time. They ended up cancelling our account and sending it to collections. DH is too stubborn and P.O.'d about the whole thing, that he refuses to pay it in collections. We don't bank there anymore. We changed banks. I hope your bank will work w/ you better than ours did. It was rediculous.
