We have 6 red sex links (21) weeks old and 6 amber links (20) weeks old and the have been laying for about 2-3 weeks. We let them free range during the day and close the fence gate when they return to the coop at night. We have found eggs in the nest boxes, on the floor of the coop in a soft pile of pine shavings, on one of the glider chairs on our deck and even in a five gallon bucket about half full of last winter's fireplace ashes. We have found as many as three eggs a day in the bucket, so they really like the ashes. It's like an Easter egg hunt every day!
