OK, we had to replace/restart our flock after a terrible attack where we lost 25 birds...we have 14 left; but need to build back up..
so because we had to replace them sooner rather than later, we ended up getting farm store birds instead of handpicking breeds from hatcheries due to how late they'd be getting to us...
anyway; hubby picked up 6 Amberlinks...these things are 10 days old and HUGE already...Some already have tail feathers, back feathers, primary and secondary wing feathers are alreayd HUUUUUGE..
and they are SUPER flighty...already..
PLEASE tell me that these things wont eat us out of house/home??? They are really about twice the size of our other birds this age; EE'ers, Speckled Sussex, Buff Orp etc...
I really didnt want ones that were going to be huge eaters and now that I found out that they produce smaller than normal eggs; I'mstarting to not be happy about these birds...
(never let control go lol...thats my lesson learned)... lol..
