This weekend I bought what I had thought was an blue ameracauna pullet and cockerel to add to my young flock but now i can't tell after bringing them home. I was told they hatched Apr-May of this year. I'm pretty sure the one with red pointy feathers is a roo but not sure about the all blue one. Please help, I may need to re-home one if both turn out to be roos

. Thanks.

A better picture of the blue's comb would probably help, but it doesn't look too red.
My cockerels hatched around late March and still don't crow. My pullets are the same age and are just now getting a little red in their tiny combs.

Also the one with red feathers either has some bad leakage going on or is an Easter Egger.

Yes, a better pic of the blues comb would help.Right now I am thinking they are both Roos but can´t tell that well from the picture. And remember- the only for sure way to tell if it is a Rooster or a pullet is to hear it crow or lay an egg! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!Good Luck!

Not sure about the all-blue one yet.

The red/blue one is all boy, and he's not a blue--he's most likely a Blue Wheaten. A true blue cockerel would not have those red patches on the shoulders.
