Ameracauna suddenly lethargic, not eating

No, and it may be too late. Since she wasn't having runny poops anymore I thought it probably wasn't cocci. If she's still alive in the morning I'll try corid, but I doubt that she's going to make it through the night. It looks a lot like the Marek's pictures I've seen online.

Yeah, it def could be. that really bums me out. In my experience I have not ever had bloody stool or even much of the runny poop. I just try that med first because the improvement is seen quickly and you can rule cocci out if it does/doesn't work. I read that when you see blood in the stool, it means that the illness is severe. I am sorry for your loss, I know how hard it can be to see them just wither away like that.

My dear hen Ellie presented like this more than 2 years ago. It turned out she responded very quickly to medicine (blood work was consistent with infection and/or inflammation and the vet prescribed meds accordingly). She is the picture of health and happiness today. She was so weak I'm sure I would have lost her without meds - I took her for help the very same day she looked ill, and it wasn't easy because it was Labor Day and nobody - I mean nobody - was open. But I left desperate messages on office answering machines and finally one vet called me and opened the office (for an extra price, but I was still grateful).

Many things are treatable if tackled quickly and with the right help. In your poor hen's case, sadly too much time is passing without the right remedy. The wrong 'remedy' can makes things even worse. If she dies please get a necropsy done so you learn what was going on and can maybe spare the others the same fate.

(just FYI - picking greens for them can present problems because if they are not cut to the right lengths crop impaction can result)
