I recently hatched 3 ameraucana, they all have this wing and feather pattern so I’m wondering if anyone here have experience with sexing them at this stage. My Swedish flower has the same wing too. If they are all Roos then I have 2 chicks left that are hens 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you for helping me.

Too young. What color are they?

I think it’s weathen
If they're actually wheaten.. then around 2 or 3ish weeks (if I recall correctly) the boys will start to feather in much darker. And by 6 weeks there should be NO question.

they all have this wing and feather pattern
Not regarding the pattern, but regarding wing feather sexing.. I believe that is only done on fast feathering breed cross to slow feathering then offspring may be sexable by wing growth..

Do they have muffs and slate legs?
They aren't slate at hatch just like feather color isn't mature yet.. Marans aren't hatched with white legs either in my experience! Talk about confusing to any average person.

See example of wheaten chicks from the Ameraucana.org site..

With the OP's being so white looking.. Not sure if that's age related but I almost wonder if it could be blue splash wheaten. If splash then the coloring may not be as obvious within a couple weeks as what I describe. And I don't think splash (or splash wheaten) is an "accepted" variety of Ameraucana even though breeding two blue wheaten could produce it.

Swedish Flower tend to show their gender fairly early with many boys being very obvious by 6 weeks.

Congrats on you hatch and beautiful babies! :wee

I have to ask the breeder where I got the eggs from. I have no idea I just know she told me the blue eggs are ameraucana. By the way they look fluffy and innocent but those puffy cheeks they eat like wolf lol

Too cute! :love

Is it just me or does that dark chick in the first pic have a straight comb?

Some folks call their EE, Ameraucana, sold to them under that name (sometimes) with some variety in spelling at the feed store.. most breeders will always sell them under their variety.

I don't recognize that dark color. I thought maybe brown red but I'm not seeing anything that lines up.. The dark one in the middle of pic #4 almost looks crested unless it's an optical illusion due to coloration. Did they also come from blue eggs or supposed to be Ameraucana? Check out the chick pics in the following link for comparison..
