I'm looking for an ameraucana breeder close to NW Florida. I've been reading alot about not getting them from a hatchery because they are almost never true ameraucanas. I want to order some from Meyer for the EEs that lay green eggs but would also like some true breeds for the blue eggs. It would be a small order so if I can drive to pick them up it would be great. Any help would be terrific. Thanks

I've been emailing with the Garners in GA and they have been super nice. Not sure how convenient it would be for a pick up but they are looking into products (heat packs I guess) that might allow them to safely ship small quantities of birds.

Here's the Breeder Directory though:

Texas Chick steered you to the best source. If Barb Campbell is close enough for you, you can't go wrong with her.

You didn't mention what variety you are after. Be sure to pay attention to that.

You're definitely doing it the right way. I like the way you've done your homework. Good for you!

God Bless,

Many of the breeders ship birds nation wide. I have had MANY birds shipped to me from breeders with no troubles. I would just start contacting people and seeing who you would like to deal with.

Pips and Peeps sent me some gorgeous Blue Ameraucana juvies!

With planes flying fast these days, it can happen.
