Ameraucana Color Project, advices?

Isn’t Chocolate also sexlinked? I’m pretty sure MPC sells (or used to sell) autosexing chocolate Orpingtons where males hatched black and females were chocolate. I have also heard of chocolate Ameraucana projects.
For a laced project, I imagine silver Ameraucanas would be the best color to start with, but those are kinda rare. Black could also probably work but there are less genes in common.
As for ‘mosaic’ or ‘Swedish Flower’ I’m assuming you just mean Mille fleur. In that case, wheaten or buff Ameraucanas would be best to start with, but if you just mean mottled/speckled in general you can really start with anything since that’s not a specific color, but rather a pattern that goes with many colors.
Not an expert here, correct me if anything is wrong

Yes, Chocolate is on the Z sex chromosome, which means you can create sexlinks with it.

But they won't breed true. You have to cross a chocolate male to a black female to get the chocolate daughters and black sons. But if you let those chicks grow up and cross them chicks, you get chocolate chicks of both genders and black chicks of both genders.

The special thing with Barring (or Cuckoo or Crele) is that it works in every generation, because it is on the Z (sex) chromosome but not completely dominant. A chicken with two copies of the gene looks different than a chicken with one copy of the gene. Because males have two Z chromosomes, they get two copies of the barring gene. But females only have one Z chromosome, so they only have one copy of the barring gene.
