Ok, so i got 3 ameraucana's from a friend and they were little so sexing was a guessing job. Might i say i love these chickens!! I am starting to think one is a roo. When my older ones chase the 3 amiga's , one fights back! It goes towards the battle, not away.

i also noticed it's a little bigger then the other 2.

So i took some pictures of all three, 2 i think are girls and my usual suspect

2 pullets

how old are they??? and the front one in the second pic looks very roo-ish to me lol but ya looks like you have a trio

here is my young ameraucana cockerel

see his slight redding of his comb and face

sorry he is kinda ratty in the pic bought him that way

they are maybe 10 weeks. The one in front (standing)has a different comb, more red and bumps forming. Still can't get a good pic of tail
It acts like a roo, very fiesty and runs to challange the older hens. I know this breed is tricky when sexing young

Lookin Rooey. They are so cute! He just looks like he has a attitude already.
The pullets will have one row of "bumps", the Cockerels three and pinker.

I've heard that too, but it's not totally accurate. Some EE pullets do have a 3-row comb, but the cockerels will have a redder, larger 3-row comb.

This is one of my pullets at almost 9 weeks (it's hard to see in the pic, but the 3 rows are very obvious when seen here at home):

This is a 20 week old pullet a few weeks before whe started laying:
