i had 2 ameraucana pullets and gave one to my dad, anyway they are laying different color eggs.
his are green and mine are brown. why?

they came from welp hatchery also

If they are from a Hatchery then what you really got was EEs or Easter Eggers.
Hatcheries really confuse people by lumping Araunacanas (sorry I am tired and misspelled), Ameraucanas, with Easter Eggers.

An Easter Egger is a mixed chicken with either one parent being either an Ameraucana or Araunacana. Easter Eggers can lay any color of egg from the blue, green, olive, tan, brown, pink, and white. As they are from mixed breeding it is a guessing game as to what color egg your hen will lay.

A true Ameraucana has either blue or slate legs, falls into one of the recognized colors for their breed and lays eggs in the blue shades. They are bearded and really cute. Check out the thread on them in the Breeders forums.

Note: even if both parents are from Ameraucanas, if they do not match the recognized criteria for the breed then they are considered as an Easter Egger.

Easter Eggers can be very colorful, have beards, and fun to keep. It is just hard to know what color the egg will be until the hen starts to lay.

We bought 3 EE's at TSC yesterday. We were told they would lay green eggs. I don't think that's something they can be sure of.

my 3 EE's shipped from mypetchicken all produce gorgeous green to khaki eggs.
and bummer, one was taken by a raccoon last week.

Sorry you lost her.

Yep, it is not guareenteable on the egg color for an EE as it is hard to predict which color gene each individual has that will determine their egg color.
