can I ask a fairly unrelated question (relative newbie here, still learning) ? -
Birch Run said that her 8 week olds are going through a moult right now....
I though that chickens didn't moult until several months old... often during their first Fall. Am I incorrect? Do they moult at 8 weeks? My chickens are 12.5 weeks now (my first flock, so forgive me ignorance) and they didn't do anything that looked like a moult at 8 weeks as far as I know... that seemed to be when they finally were feathered out for the first time.... I'm just trying to be better educated.
