I now have 8 potential Ameraucana chicks. 3 came from a breeder and were suppose to be all pullets, They are feathering out quickly. The other 6 came from TSC, (I lost one and now have 5) four of them are feathering out quickly and one has little stub feathers still perfectly even. ALL of my other chicks(the Brahmas, Tetra Tints, Golden Comets, and the rest of the Ameraucanas) all had two different feather lengths.
I guess what I am asking is Does the feather sexing stand true in Ameraucans? Could it possibly be my only male? Is 15/1 a safe ratio, or should I have more roos? I know they are still to young for any definite sexing as My oldest chicks are going on 3 weeks, and my youngest are working on 1 week...
