I will purchase two hens and A rooster next weekend from A well known breeder in north Texas. I am having trouble deciding on what color I want I like all the colors but everyone has black and blue. I have learned that to get 100% blue you have to have A black rooster and slash hens or splash rooster and black hens so I am not sure I want to deal with genetics or not. I also like the white and wheaten. Has anyone done anything with these guys that can help me make up my mind. Also I should mention I have two self blue hens already any info advice or opinions are welcome.

Are you looking to get into exhibition?

I don't know I have been thinking about learning how to hatch and raise chicks. But I really want to give people A true pure bird there are so many people selling mix breeds and passing them off as pure. The biggest reason is I really like these guys and I enjoy this as A hobby Ameraucanas are my favorite breed. It also seems that if you want to exhibition you have to have black birds to be on the top.

Besides blue is there any other color that doesn't breed true? Also got my first true blue egg today from one of the self blue hens
