I have an Ameraucana (probably an EE, but with all the Ameraucana genes including slate legs), about 10 months old. She stopped laying two weeks ago. This morning there's a small blanket of white feathers at the bottom of the coop, so I assume she's beginning her first moult. Can you Ameraucana owners give me some idea of how long before your's started laying again? Also what do you give them to add protein to their diet? Scrambled eggs?

I had a hen that was in molt from October and is just finishing it now. She did not go through a fast molt.. She slowly dropped the feathers and replaced them. She started laying again on Saturday.

If she is 10 months old. it typically will not last long at all. Usually pullets don't stop laying for a molt in their first year. I've read that they go through 3 partial molts a year.
