ignore the black cochin bantam in there... this is gordita, she is 14 or 15 weeks old. the black cochin bantam is fajita, who is 16 weeks old.

is she an ameraucana or an EE?

Officially your bird would be an EE. Doesn't match an APA accepted color pattern.

That doesn't mean it didn't come from ameraucana parents though.

It will still lay cool looking eggs thou Rosey!

I do find it odd that they actually went to the trouble of declareing a breed that has to be bread to Non breed standard birds, creating non standard birds, in order to preserve the standard.

Oh well, who am I to say

Oh wait, wrong breed,, never mind.

Nice chicken you have though Rosey

My son named one of our Dominiques "Dominique"
So call her whatever you like

I changed it slightly to "Domineak" or "Nikki" for posting purposes

yay! if the hatcherys get to call her an ameraucana why can't i? lol

She looks just like our two *ahem* araucana/ameraucana pullets, though a bit older. Perhaps I'll have to start referring to them as Easter Eggers...

Well, you couldn't SHOW her as an Ameraucana, but she's a pretty girl and will lay tasty eggs of interesting color just the same. I do think hatcheries should be more forthcoming about what exactly they are selling, but then again, even their purebreds are not the best examples of the breeds, to say the least.
