ameraucana or easter egger?????

I bought day old ameraucana chicks from a feed store in my area.well now that they are older I'm not sure if they are ameraucana's. I keep looking on line and ameraucana and Easter eggers look the same to me.I'll post pictures of them later but how do I know what they really are?

You can access the "breeds" tab at the top of the home page and find them there or/and if you need further info. You can go to the ABC Ameracauna Breeders Club web site.

I checked the breeds tab and they still seem the same to me but I forgot about ABC I'll check there

You will see a lot of EE pictures if you search for Ameraucana because a LOT of people buy EEs marketed as "ameraucanas" "araucanas" etc from the hatcheries/feed stores and so believe they have a true Ameraucana.

Go to www.Ameraucana.org , that is the American Breed Association, click on the FAQ tab to learn the difference between an EE and Ameraucana and Araucana. The Photos tab will have pictures of all the recognized breed colors.

The main identifier of EE is the partridge-like wild patterns that they most usually come in.

If you bought them from a feed store, they're Easter eggers.
